The World’s Fastest MLC Solid-State Drive (SSD) Family, SanDisk G3 SSDs
This Dandy Gadget: It’s really fastest, five times fastest than 7,200 RPM hard-disk-drives. Try it, SanDisk unveiled its third-generation family of solid-state drive(SSDs), G3 SSDs at CES 2009 which is using multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash memory technology.
Specifically, G3 SSDs are more than twice as fast as SSDs shipping in 2008, clocking in at 40,000 vRPM and anticipated sequential performance of 200MB/s read and 140MB/s write which design in the standart 2.5″ and 1.8″ form factors. One more thing, The G3 SSDs provide a Long-term Data Endurance (LDE) of 160 terabytes written (TBW) for the 240GB version, sufficient for over 100 years of typical user usage.
G3 SSDs are available in three size: 60GB, 120GB, 240GB. The prices are MSRP $149(60GB), $249(120GB), and $499(240GB). Respectively, each available with a SATA-II interface and will be available to market in mid 2009.
