When I was a kid, an elementary student, I was having a dream that I could become a journalist someday, gathering stories from around the world in photos or videos, meeting with new people, it looks like so fun. In a fact that I’m now far from my dream, stacking on my chair, looking on monitor, doing fingers work as a blogger, this Canon XH A1S Pro HDV camcorder surely is not for me as it’s made purposely for you, professional users who work in television production or broadcaster.
According to Canon, the XH A1S is coming with a compact and lightweight body. Still to me, the 163 x 192 x 394mm dimension and 2400g mass in full loaded is still a large and heavy camcorder, maybe it’s because I’m not too familiar with a pro-camcorder. Perhaps, it’s true that it’s a compact and lightweight camcorder in its class.
Due to achieve high performance and high quality image, like its predecessor XH A1, the XH A1s still depends on a genuine Canon 20x HD Video lens with 72mm filter tread, independent manual focus, zoom and iris ring, three 1/3-inch Native 16:9 CCDs image sensor, DIGIC DV II image processor, Super-Range OIS, Instant AF, selectable frame rate and shoot assist functions. Of course, as it’s the upgrade version of XH A1, you will see enhancements in some parts such as a better sharp for better handling, manual focusing during zooming, enable to use a built-in microphone simultaneously with XLR 2-ch input, Anti-slip protuberance, and so on. In short, the enhancements are built to make this pro-camcorder easier to used and get a better result.
In addition, this new camcorder features a 2.8-inch widescreen LCD with 207,000 dots, 0.57-inch wide-type CVF with 269,000 dots, SD/SDHC/MMC card slot, HDV/DV Special 6-pin connector, -12 dBV output level, and so on.
Canon XH A1S pro camcorder is available in MSRP $3,999. Better performance and better quality, it’s OK with better price (a little more expensive), right?
