ASUS has announced the Googlebook 14, a 14-inch ultraportable designed around Google’s Gemini Intelligence software and integration with supported Android phones. The laptop starts at 0.99 kilograms and 10.9 millimeters thick, while offering configurations with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, as much as 64GB of memory, and up to 1TB of solid-state storage.
A compact magnesium-aluminum chassis
The CNC-machined magnesium-aluminum body is finished in Dusk Ash and uses the company’s Nano Ceramic surface treatment. ASUS says the treatment helps resist scratches, stains, and abrasion. The laptop was tested against selected MIL-STD 810H procedures and the manufacturer’s own durability standards, though that testing does not indicate suitability for military use or guarantee protection from accidental damage.
A 70Wh battery is rated for up to 18 hours under the company’s test conditions. Battery life will vary with display brightness, applications, wireless activity, configuration, and other settings. The cooling system is designed to sustain processor performance in the thin body, but independent measurements will be needed to establish noise, temperatures, and speed across different workloads.
The OLED panel leads the hardware
The 14-inch touchscreen uses a 16:10 aspect ratio and 3K OLED HDR panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. ASUS lists peak HDR brightness of 1,000 nits. Gorilla Glass Victus and Gorilla Matte anti-glare technology cover the screen. A six-speaker audio system combines two force-canceling woofers with two tweeters, while the haptic touchpad uses six-point force sensing. The backlit keyboard has 1.5 millimeters of key travel.
Gemini connects screen and phone tasks
Magic Pointer lets a user select an onscreen object and ask Gemini to compare, create, or take another supported action. Proactive suggestions can surface actions based on visible content, subject to account, language, country, age, and subscription limits. An earlier ASUS Chromebook CM14 overview covers another Google-centered ASUS laptop. With a supported device running Android 17 or later, users can begin a task on the phone and continue on the laptop or cast phone applications to the larger screen.
Ports cover common desk setups
The sides include two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports with power delivery and DisplayPort 1.4, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1b, and a 3.5mm audio connection. Wi-Fi 7 handles wireless networking. Eligible purchases activated from October 1 include 12 months of Google AI Pro in listed markets including the United States, with redemption required by March 31, 2027. The subscription renews at the then-current rate unless canceled.
The specification sheet makes portability, display quality, connectivity, and integrated AI the central themes. Retail pricing and configuration details will be needed to judge its position against established premium laptops, while independent testing must assess battery and performance claims. The complete announcement and feature limitations are published by ASUS.
