Phrozen has introduced the Sonic Mighty Revo 16K MAX, a 14-inch 16K MSLA resin printer aimed at creators, studios, and print-service operators moving beyond small models. Its headline feature is not simply a larger screen: the machine combines high-detail large-format printing with systems designed to reduce the practical risks of long jobs, including temperature variation, resin shortages, limited visibility, and maintenance delays.
Large-format printing with fewer interruptions
A large resin printer can produce sizable parts or fill the build plate with multiple smaller models, but a failed job also wastes more resin and time. The Revo MAX addresses that issue with a 2-liter resin vat, which Phrozen says can hold the equivalent of up to 2.5 standard 1 kg resin bottles. That capacity should be useful for overnight projects, batch production, and models that would otherwise require a mid-print refill.
Phrozen chose a large conventional vat instead of an automatic pumping system. This is a simpler arrangement with no feed tubes or pump to clog, loosen, or leak. The trade-off is that resin management remains manual, so operators still need to estimate consumption and fill the vat appropriately before starting a demanding print.
Dual heating targets consistent resin behavior
Temperature matters because cold or high-viscosity resin may flow less evenly after the build plate lifts. The printer uses a dual-fan chamber heater capable of bringing the chamber to 30 degrees C. An optional heated vat adds direct resin heating for users who need tighter temperature control, particularly when working in colder rooms or with engineering materials.
This two-stage approach is potentially valuable during long prints, where environmental changes can affect layer consistency. However, the heated vat is optional rather than standard, so buyers working regularly with demanding resin should factor that accessory into the complete setup.
Camera and app support remote supervision
A vertically mounted 1080p monitoring camera provides a view across the large build area. Amber LED illumination brightens the chamber without adding UV curing light, while AI-assisted color correction is intended to produce a more readable image. The camera can also capture time-lapse footage, although it should be treated as a monitoring aid rather than a guarantee that every print problem will be detected automatically.
Through the Phrozen GO app, users can check live video, receive alerts, review time lapses, and start, pause, or resume jobs remotely. Multi-printer management makes this particularly relevant to service bureaus and small production studios, where checking each machine in person can become inefficient.
Maintenance features suit repeat production
The all-metal build plate has an angled upper surface that encourages excess resin to drain back into the vat. The LCD, build plate, and release film are designed for quick removal, with the screw-free film replacement process claimed to take about three minutes. These details do not change print resolution, but they can reduce turnaround time between jobs and shorten downtime when consumable parts need attention.
