WHOOP is expanding its women’s health toolkit through a new integration with Natural Cycles, connecting wearable data with an FDA-cleared digital birth control app. Eligible members can automatically send overnight skin temperature data from compatible WHOOP devices to Natural Cycles for personalized fertility insights.

Wearable Data Meets Digital Birth Control

The integration is designed to remove one of the more repetitive steps in temperature-based fertility tracking. Instead of manually taking and entering a temperature reading each morning, users can allow their WHOOP wearable to collect skin temperature data overnight and securely share the information with the Natural Cycles app.

Natural Cycles uses temperature, heart rate information, and other biomarker data to estimate whether a user is currently in a fertile or non-fertile phase. The app is classified as a Class II medical device and is described as the only FDA-cleared birth control app that works without hormones.

More Than a Single Fertility Mode

Although hormone-free birth control is the headline feature, Natural Cycles covers a broader reproductive health journey. One subscription includes modes for birth control, planning a pregnancy, following a pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and perimenopause, allowing users to change the app’s purpose as their needs evolve.

This makes the integration more versatile than a basic cycle calendar. Combining continuous wearable measurements with a clinically evaluated algorithm can provide more personalized daily information, although users still need to follow the app’s instructions carefully. Like any contraceptive method, the service should be used with a clear understanding of its requirements and limitations.

How It Fits Into the WHOOP Platform

WHOOP already organizes data around sleep, recovery, and strain. Adding Natural Cycles gives compatible members another way to use information gathered during sleep, extending the wearable beyond fitness and athletic performance into reproductive health tracking.

The Natural Cycles integration currently works with WHOOP MG and WHOOP 5.0 devices. Members who are new to Natural Cycles can receive a 12-month app subscription as part of any eligible WHOOP membership, while existing Natural Cycles subscribers may not qualify for the introductory benefit.

No separate promotional price was announced for the included first year. Availability depends on device compatibility, membership eligibility, and access to Natural Cycles in the user’s region.
