Samsung Electronics returns with another boundary-pushing form factor through the arrival of Galaxy Z TriFold, a device engineered to merge portability and expansive screen real estate in a single package. The company positions this new foldable as a natural extension of its long-running innovation in flexible displays, offering a slim ultra-phone that unfolds twice into a massive 10-inch workspace. With this step, Samsung signals a new chapter in mobile productivity and entertainment, all from a device that still fits in a pocket.

An Ultra-Thin Multi-Fold Design

One of the most striking aspects of the Galaxy Z TriFold is its engineering focus. At just 3.9 mm at its thinnest point, the device remains surprisingly portable considering the complexity of its folding structure. Samsung’s reworked Armor FlexHinge and dual-rail mechanism ensure smoother movement across differently sized hinge segments, improving stability during repeated folds. The exterior also benefits from Advanced Armor Aluminum and a ceramic-glass fiber back that targets reinforced rigidity without unnecessary weight.

A Workspace Built for the 10-Inch Display

Unfolding the TriFold reveals a Dynamic AMOLED 2X main screen designed for multitasking. The large canvas acts like three 6.5-inch portrait apps laid side-by-side, letting users work across documents, messages, or creative tools simultaneously. Samsung has optimized familiar apps such as My Files and Samsung Health to scale intelligently on the bigger display, while the updated Taskbar brings quick access to recently used apps for a more desktop-like workflow. The inclusion of standalone Samsung DeX support further expands functionality, allowing up to four workspaces with five apps each.

Performance and AI Features for Modern Workflows

Under the hood, the TriFold is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, paired with options up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage. A 200 MP main camera with optical quality zoom and enhanced AI editing tools provides editing flexibility right on the device. Galaxy AI features scale naturally to the large display, offering tools like Generative Edit, browsing summaries, and contextual assistance through Gemini Live. Multimodal input interprets what users see and say, making complex tasks feel more fluid on the expanded display.

Cinematic Viewing in a Pocketable Frame

The 10-inch screen also makes the TriFold an entertainment device. The main display reaches 1600 nits, while the cover screen hits an even brighter 2600 nits, supported by Vision Booster for contrast optimization in varying environments. With minimized creasing and 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate across displays, videos and games look more seamless than on traditional foldables. Galaxy Z TriFold will begin rollout across multiple markets starting December 2025. The device supports 45 W wired charging, a large 5600 mAh three-cell battery system, and rugged design choices like IP48 resistance.
