Hisense PX4 Pro Targets Movies and 240Hz Gaming

Hisense has introduced the PX4 Pro, a new TriChroma Laser Cinema built to handle movies, live sports, family entertainment, and high-refresh-rate gaming. Supporting projection sizes from 80 to 200 inches, the ultra-short-throw system aims to deliver the scale of a commercial theater without turning everyday viewing into a complicated projector setup.

The headline number is its 3,500 ANSI lumens of brightness. That output should make the PX4 Pro more practical in living rooms where some ambient light is unavoidable, although pairing it with a suitable projection screen will still provide the best contrast. The wide size range also gives users more flexibility, whether they want an 80-inch TV alternative or a wall-filling 200-inch image.

TriChroma Laser Engine Expands the Color Range

Inside the projector is the LPU Digital Laser Engine 3.0, Hisense’s latest-generation light and image processing platform. The system reaches a claimed 118% of the BT.2020 color space, allowing it to reproduce a broader selection of reds, greens, blues, and intermediate tones than many conventional home projectors.

Wide color coverage is particularly useful with animation, nature documentaries, games, and HDR movies, but color volume alone does not guarantee a balanced picture. Hisense therefore combines the laser engine with Dynamic Grayscale Technology and an enhanced iris lens. These technologies are designed to preserve detail in darker scenes while adding depth to brighter HDR highlights.

Gaming Features Go Beyond Casual Big-Screen Play

The PX4 Pro is positioned as more than a movie projector. According to Hisense, it is the world’s first TriChroma Laser Cinema certified for FreeSync Premium. Its gaming specifications include a claimed 1ms response time, variable refresh rate support, and a 2K resolution mode capable of running at up to 240Hz.

This combination is aimed at players who want a responsive experience without giving up the impact of an oversized display. FreeSync Premium can reduce visible tearing when the frame rate changes, while Dolby Vision Gaming adds HDR support for compatible games and hardware. The maximum 240Hz mode uses 2K resolution, so users prioritizing full image detail may need to choose a different refresh-rate setting.

VIDAA Adds Streaming and Future Cloud Gaming

The integrated VIDAA smart platform turns the projector into a standalone entertainment hub for supported streaming services. Hisense also says Xbox Cloud Gaming will arrive through a future VIDAA software update, potentially allowing users to stream compatible games without connecting a console. A stable, low-latency internet connection and an eligible subscription will still be required for the cloud gaming service.

That future update could make the PX4 Pro especially versatile, combining cinematic content, broadcast sports, streaming apps, and console-free gaming in one device. However, buyers should treat Xbox Cloud Gaming as an upcoming feature rather than something guaranteed to be available immediately when the projector reaches stores.

A Bright Projector Built for Multiple Roles

With its high brightness, expanded color coverage, gaming certification, and unusually large projection range, the PX4 Pro is designed as a flexible alternative to an extra-large television. Its strongest appeal is the ability to switch between cinematic viewing and high-refresh gaming without requiring separate displays.

Hisense announced the PX4 Pro on August 3, 2026, but has not yet confirmed its price, regional release schedule, or exact retail availability. Those details will determine how it compares with premium laser projectors and large-screen televisions, but the published specifications already position the Hisense PX4 Pro as an ambitious all-in-one home entertainment system.
