Galaxy A57 5G vs A37 5G: Smarter Midrange Picks

Galaxy A57 5G vs A37 5G

Samsung Electronics is back with yet another attempt to convince you that midrange phones can feel “pro-level.” The new Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G continue the brand’s push toward AI-driven experiences, longer software support, and refined everyday usability. On paper, both devices look suspiciously similar, but as usual, the details hide where your money actually goes.

Design and Display: Subtle Refinement vs Practical Familiarity

Both models come with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, and Vision Booster. In other words, you’re getting smooth scrolling and bright visuals either way. But the Galaxy A57 5G introduces a more refined design with slimmer bezels and a slightly lighter body, making it feel more premium in hand.

The Galaxy A37 5G, meanwhile, sticks to a more functional approach. It is slightly thicker and heavier, which you will notice if you care about ergonomics or just have weak wrists after doomscrolling all day. Both still carry IP68 resistance, which is nice because people drop things.

Camera System: Same Core, Different Intelligence

At first glance, both devices share a 50MP main camera, which is the backbone of their photography. But Samsung clearly wants you to care about processing, not just hardware. The Galaxy A57 5G benefits from enhanced image processing and faster shutter speeds, producing sharper images with better color balance.

The Galaxy A37 5G still delivers solid results, but its ultra-wide drops to 8MP ultra-wide compared to the A57’s 12MP. Not a dealbreaker, unless you enjoy capturing wide landscapes without them looking like watercolor paintings. Both devices include macro and front cameras, because apparently we still pretend macro lenses are essential.

Performance and AI: The Real Upgrade Story

This is where Samsung tries hardest to justify the lineup. The Galaxy A57 5G features upgraded CPU, GPU, and NPU performance, making it better suited for AI tasks and multitasking. It also handles features like voice transcription, AI Select, and image editing more smoothly.

The Galaxy A37 5G still supports the same “Awesome Intelligence” ecosystem, but with less headroom. Think of it as capable, but not particularly eager. Both devices run Android 16 with One UI 8.5, and yes, you get up to six years of updates, which is probably longer than your attention span for a single phone.

Battery, Durability, and Long-Term Value

Both phones pack a 5000mAh battery, which Samsung claims can last up to two days. Realistically, that depends on how addicted you are to your screen. The Galaxy A57 5G adds faster charging and a larger vapor chamber for better thermal control during gaming or heavy use.

Security is handled by Samsung Knox across both models, along with features like Private Album and Privacy Alerts. Whether users actually use them is another story. Durability remains consistent with IP68, so at least both phones can survive your occasional clumsiness.

In the end, Samsung Electronics positions the Galaxy A57 5G as the smarter, slightly more premium option, while the Galaxy A37 5G is the safer, more budget-conscious choice. Both will be available starting April 10 in select markets, with multiple color options depending on how much personality you think your phone should have.

If you want better AI performance, camera processing, and design refinement, the A57 makes sense. If not, the A37 quietly does the job without trying too hard. Pick your level of ambition.
