Garmin has officially unveiled the zumo XT3, its most advanced motorcycle GPS to date. Built for riders who split time between open highways, dirt trails, and even the racetrack, this next-gen navigator is engineered to survive handlebar vibration, unpredictable weather, and aggressive cornering. Available in 4.7-inch and 6-inch display options, it is clearly designed to fit nearly any bike setup without compromise.

Built for Real-World Riding Conditions

The zumo XT3 is not a fragile touchscreen gadget pretending to be rugged. It meets MIL-STD-810 drop standards and carries an IPX7 water-resistance rating, meaning it can handle rainstorms and rough terrain without flinching. The bright, high-resolution display is glove-friendly, ensuring riders do not need to fumble with controls mid-ride. Whether mounted on a touring bike or a smaller naked motorcycle, durability is clearly at the core of the device.

Garmin has also engineered the hardware to withstand prolonged handlebar vibration, which is often the silent killer of electronics on motorcycles. Combined with post-mount hardware for compact setups and a U-bolt handlebar kit for larger models, installation flexibility matches its physical toughness.

Live Lean Angles and Performance Data

The headline feature is the new live lean angle gauge. Riders can now see in real time how far they lean into each corner, alongside G-force metrics, max speed, and other ride analytics. After each session, the ride summary becomes available in the Tread smartphone app, allowing users to review, analyze, and even share performance data.

For drag racing and track enthusiasts, Garmin offers a Performance Package subscription. With it, riders can record 0–60 mph times, 1/8-mile and 1/4-mile milestones, and access lap timers and leaderboards. Performance insights can also be reviewed via the Garmin Catalyst mobile app, turning the z?mo XT3 into more than navigation hardware. It becomes a compact telemetry companion.

Navigation remains the backbone of the device. Preloaded street maps and high-definition topographic maps come standard, while satellite imagery can be downloaded directly to the unit. Riders seeking even richer detail can subscribe to Outdoor Maps+, unlocking Adventure Roads and Trails with turn-by-turn routing tailored for off-road exploration.

Features like Garmin Adventurous Routing help discover curvier, hillier, and more scenic roads, while Great Rides and Popular Moto Paths showcase routes favored by other riders. GPX, KML, and KMZ file imports make route planning flexible, whether done directly on the device or through the Tread app.

Connected Ecosystem and Group Ride Features

The group ride tracking feature allows riders to monitor friends through the Tread app, provided each participant has a compatible smartphone and cellular connection. This is particularly useful for organized rides or multi-bike road trips.

Compatibility with other Garmin devices extends functionality further. Riders can pair the navigator with the z?mo R1 radar for rearview monitoring, a Handlebar Controller for safer input control, or an inReach satellite communicator for off-grid messaging and emergency SOS capability.
