At CES 2013, Sony is showing what they have done for decade in researching the potential of OLED panel to create a large 4K OLED TV by using the latest oxide semiconductor TFTs and Sony’s Super Top Emission’ technologies.
Although It’s not an easy challenge, the company has already passed more than the half way to the final destination. The result, you can see the prototype of a 56-inch 4K OLED TV at CES 2013 exhibition. It’s the world’s first and largest 4K OLED TV in this galaxy. If the company really succeeded in turning this prototype into its real mode, by counting on the advantages of OLED panel compared to LED panel, perhaps the 4K LED TV will be only a history soon, of course, if the consumer doesn’t count on the price.
Hey, I have heard rumors that Samsung, LG, Sharp and other companies are also doing the same thing. You should make it quick, Sony!
The release date and pricing
Even though, it’s only a prototype now, due to Sony is really serious in digging this matter, this large BRAVIA 4K OLED TV likely will be ready at the end of next year or sooner. Don’t ask about its price, it’s 4K OLED TV not 4K LED TV, surely it will have a rocket price tag.
