To stay hold on its radar business, recently Garmin unveiled new xHD radar in two version 6-foot and 4-foot version, named as GMR 406 xHD and GMR 404 xHD radar. Both contain high technologies in four kilowatts of power output, the radars offer 72 nautical mile maximum range with advanced video technology and better detection that can detect small or distant targets in better result that could be not detected by traditional radar system.
More through its Dual Range feature, allow this new radar to display close and distant targets on one display. As always Garmin radars, the devices also support MARPA (Mini Automatic Radar Plotting Aid) collision avoidance capability.
Garmin 6-foot GMR 406 xHD is featuring a 1.1-degree horizontal and 25-degree vertical beamwidth and has a pricing at MSRP $4499.99. Meanwhile GMR 404 xHD radar features a 1.8-degree horizontal and 25-degree vertical beamwidth, and is available for MSRP $3699.99. [Dandy Gadget Source]
