Judging from the Gygabite S1080’s main specs, this tablet is coming closely like what ChromeBook 5 series has. However, this is a 10.1-inch tablet not a netbook. So it might have a lower price (there is no real keyboard, right?).
The S1080 slate PC brings the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system, and only powered by an Intel Atom Dual Core N570 processor with up to 2GB memory and built-in Intel GMA 3150 video graphics. For just helping your office works, that is more than enough to run your most favorite office applications such: Excel or Winword or PowerPoint. And thanks to a large storage, a 320GB HDD assures you can store every files or documents into.
Unlike other slate PCs, you can see the optical finger navigation button at the top-front center. And the bottom, there is a left/right mouse button. Not everyone like to touch for editing their documents, right? In addition, the GigaByte S1080 slate PC features a 10.1-inch Capacitive Multi-touch Panel 1024×600 with LED backlight display, a 1.3MP webcam, LAN, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0.
Fashioned in 270(W)x173(D)x14.94(H)mm and 895g, the Gigabyte S1080 tablet is expected to hit market in Fall 2011 (rumored, no official announcement). The price tag is still cloudy, hopefully it’ll be set under $400, right? [Dandy Gadget Source]
