Honestly, this new wireless controller, Ion, doesn’t seem represent the SteelSeries’s product. As far as I knew, they always bring unique design into their product, but this one is far away from being unique. This Ion is just like your classic Nintendo, Xbox 360, and PlayStation controllers.
On the contrary, the classic design does not take much time for you to adapt with its function. There are 2 mini-joysticks, a left side Dpad button, 2 trigger button, and a four button, I’m sure you already knew their place even with blind eyes, right? SteelSeries said, you can customize the buttons easily, that is the good news.
By bringing the Bluetooth technology, the Ion can talk with your Bluetooth-enabled gaming devices such as your Smartphone, tablet, or your PC wirelessly. Interestingly, the battery supports up to 20 hours, that’s a long time. More, you can do charging while you are playing your games, it’s sweet-sugar.
Fashioned in 108(W) x 55.5(H) x 18(D) mm with elegant black finish, SteelSeries Ion wireless controller is expected to hit market in Q3 2012. No pricing yet is announced officially by. Hopefully, this controller is not more than $100.
