Nacon Revolution 5 Unlimited Puts a Screen on a PS5 Pad

Nacon has opened US preorders for the Nacon Revolution 5 Unlimited, an officially licensed PS5 controller that puts a small settings display at the top center of the pad. The French company calls it the first licensed PS5 controller with a built-in control screen, and it pairs that screen with TMR thumbsticks and a charging dock. It works with PS5 and Windows PCs, the announcement adds Android smart TVs, and the US product page lists an October 21, 2026 release.

What the built-in screen actually changes

Pro-style pads usually bury deep tweaks in a phone app or a pause menu. Nacon says the R5U display handles button and shortcut mapping, stick response curves and dead zones, the game and chat audio mix, and microphone level without leaving the game. That matters for the changes people make mid-session, like turning party chat down when a squad gets loud or recalibrating a stick between a shooter and a racer.

The phone is not out of the loop. The iOS and Android companion app still handles saved profiles, the RGB ring around the right stick, an audio equalizer, and finer dead-zone settings. The screen is for quick changes, and the app is for setup.

TMR sticks and dual-mode triggers

TMR stands for tunneling magnetoresistance. The sticks read their position magnetically instead of through rubbing contacts, and Nacon claims that brings higher aiming resolution, lower power draw, and less mechanical wear. Wear is what players worry about when a pad starts drifting, so this spec matters most if you keep a controller for years. This is also the first time TMR appears in the Nacon lineup.

The triggers switch between Hall-effect analog travel, useful for feathering a throttle in a racing game, and a short mechanical hair-trigger click for shooters and fighting games. Action buttons and the D-pad use mechanical micro-switches, and a Shooter Pro Mode removes stick dead zones entirely, according to Nacon.

Dock, PC mode, and the parts box

The magnetic dock charges through pogo connectors and has a USB pass-through port for the 2.4 GHz wireless dongle, so the adapter lives in the dock instead of taking a console port. On PC, Nacon quotes a 1000 Hz polling rate and 1 ms latency. Sony does not test or endorse PC or smart TV use.

The box is generous: six stick heads, six weights in 10 g, 14 g, and 16 g pairs, four stick travel rings, 4-way and 8-way D-pads, a storage case, and a 300 cm cable. There is a headset jack and a 6-axis gyro that works on PS5 and PC. Stick tension is not adjustable.

Who should look at it

This pad is aimed at competitive PS5 players who also game on PC and like to tune each title. The asymmetric stick layout is closer to an Xbox pad than to Sony’s own controller, so DualSense loyalists should try that layout before buying. Third-party PlayStation pads have come a long way since the PowerA Batarang controller of the PS3 era. Nacon has not published battery life or weight, so those are open questions until the pad ships.

The Nacon announcement lists the Revolution 5 Unlimited at a suggested $229.99, though the US store page showed $199.90 on October 5. Preorders are open on nacongaming.com, with release set for October 21, 2026, and the store offers free US delivery on orders of $80 or more.
