Sony revealed a new Cyber-shot camera in WX series, DSC-WX30. Is it a new version of WX7? It’s you to decide it. In a fact, the new camera is coming with what WX7 has; a 16.2 MP 1/ 2.3 type (7.77mm)Exmor R CMOS sensor, a 5x optical zoom with 25mm wide angle Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens, and powered by BIONZ processor.
What’s new? Sony WX30 camera uses a new ‘By Pixel Super Resolution’ technology and a bigger screen ever in WX series, 7.5 cm. The new technology boasts a new brand ‘Clear Image Zoom’ which enables to capture 16 MP full-resolution up to 10x zoom without lowering pixel count in the final image.
Like WX7, it also has abilities to record full HD 1080/50i movie AVCHD and 42.9 megapixel panoramas as well as 3D images. Unfornately, Sony WX30 is only having a 19MB built-in memory, if you need more storage you expand through memory card slot.
Fashioned in 92.22 (W) x 51.9 (H) x 19.1 (D)mm dimension and 100 g weight, Sony WX30 Cyber-shot camera is expected to hit market in September 2011 in three colors: black, silver and violet (other colors might also available). As always, Sony didn’t announce yet about its price. I guess, it will be not more than 300 GBP (not sure). [Dandy Gadget Source]
