I wonder what’s new in this Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS4, or you want to call it FT4 in Europe version, compared to its predecessor, TS3. It comes with All of TS3’s profile: ruggedized design, size, quad indicator, quad protection and identical specs. Probably, this camera also brings back the old colors of TS3.
So, what’s new? Honestly, I’m confused about the differences between them. I guess, it’s just only about software and database. The TS4 provides more GPS database (not sure). And one thing for sure, this new camera can virtually extend the 4x optical zoom to 9.3x. Is the TS3 offering Time Lapse Shot, Miniature Effect and Panarama Shot modes? Just I said, it is only a matter of software.
Regarding to its main specs, the TS4 features a 12.1 MP Hi-Speed CCD sensor, a LEICA DC Vario-Elmar 28mm wide-angle lens with 4.6x optical zoom, a 2.7-inch TFT LCD, 1080/60i full HD video recording, a 20MB built-in storage, memory card slot, USB port, micro HDMI port, Li-ion battery and so on.
Fashioned in 103.5(W) x 64.0(H) x 26.5(D) mm and 175g with sleek design, Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS4 ruggedized camera is going to hit market in mid-March 2012 in MSRP $399.99 (US). Did you notice? It has the same price as the TS3. Which one is your color: black, blue, silver, orange? [Dandy Gadget Source]
